How do I find my son??

I've just noticed that, although I'm married, I can't find my son (heir). I'm 51 and my wife 49 ... It's very hard to track lineage which is absurd given that "dynasty" implies ancestors and descendants. MD only gives us NPC living in the same house; once a child leaves, the connection seems lost. I hope there's an answer or else I'm going crazy ... My son married properly with a woman within the fertility range ... either the wolves ate him or the bandits grabbed him and are having their way with him!!!

He should have another color on his icon, compared to the rest of the NPCs. You should also see it in your own characters information.

Found him! I had to track him through my wife which listed her children. It's absurd that I couldn't track him through his father. Sadly, he's a farmer and has been hanging around the barn no doing anything. I think my dynasty is in trouble if he can't act like a future dynast. I'm in year 56 and didn't like the idea of starting over.!

Well. He is what you decide him to be, so could just change His work.

Yup, I just wanted to see if he had the fortitude to deal with the situation presented to him. I was also trying to think back and remember the father-son bonding moments ("Dad, take me hunting") but couldn't place them. Well, he's got an heir so I guess everything is OK. I still think there ought to be some sort of record of the dynasty, starting with Racimir, since that was a big deal in the medieval era.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but... Are you sure he's your son? I mean... You have been away from your settlement for long periods at a time... A woman tends to get lonely... And so many strapping young villagers nearby, maybe it was one of your farmers...?


I agree with the records thing though. Would be cool to have some sort of statistic screen showing a family tree of your dynasty.

Yes! A tab in the menu for lineage would be great since NPC die off without notice. It'd be great to see what one's offspring do.
