Builing a bridge/Ramp up a cliff

Hi There.
Has anyone figured out yet, how to build a ramp up a cliff?
I would like to settle at Oxbow at the waterfall.
And I would like to include the upper-waterfall-area into that build. The way around the cliff is to far for my taste and I wanted to build up a ramp/bridge up those cliffs.
Till now I am beaten by uneaven terrain.
Has anyone managed it somehow and would like to post a picture?

You do know that even if you can build a ramp up cliffs / hillsides it is very unlikely that your NPC's will use it. According to other posts I have read.

I think the position you are referring to is not possible. There's a small lake nearby and I've built a path up the cliffs on the right.

But I have houses at the same place you mentioned both above and below. The diversions isn't that far. The NPCs often climb up (just not right next to the waterfall, but a little further back, where you can certainly build a footbridge).
I always drop down the cliffs piece by piece xD

Thank you @Ook. This helps me alot.

Maybe there will be an update in the future, where it will be possible to build stairs and ramps up high cliffs. Maybe they will add pieces that do not need stilts and/or a connection to the ground. Like hanging bridge and stair pieces.
This would be awesome.

I haven't been able to fully build a ramp up the cliffs beside the waterfall (Oxbow), but you can often find placements for unconnected platforms that are within jumping distance of each other. It can be a little fiddly to find spots that work, and I usually do some bookmark saves so I don't lose three days of a season just trying to figure them all out. The NPCs don't use them, but I can parkour pretty much straight up and down instead of having to loop all the way around. I'm hoping that some of the features that we see in the villages (ex. stairs! and maybe some terra-forming) are a sneak peak at what may be in the pipeline for future updates, though.
