Taverns & Food.
So I have 2 taverns built, a 1 and a 2. I presently have two villagers one cooking in each. However, I never actually see the cooked food to use it myself. Yesterday I did find a scrambled egg, but I have yet to see a soup/pottage/meat & veg. I am guessing the villagers are eating it more or less as it's made. Am I missing something?

The villagers will select the highest nutrition they find in the food storage and among that the closest to rotting so if your tavern workers are not cooking enough food for the whole village you tend to not see the items in the food storage.
Give them some time, they tend to level up fairly quickly and as a result they will be cooking faster as well.

I can get one more villager for the Tavern 2 so I will see if that helps.

Depends on how many villagers you have, also depends of the skill of those at the tavern cooking, i have 3 working at the tavern but i make the bread that feeds them since like fel said they eat highest nutrition, so al the other food is for sale, but i ran one season just to check with the 3 and they barelly make for all the villagers. so yeah you need 1 more cooking so they get more experience to produce more, you can dismiss him later when you see that they are high to be just 2.

my villagers were apparently sipping my juice. the nutrition value of juice is negligible. so idk what kinda logic it is they're using but surely it's not just nutrition.

we sure need a way to add priorities to food and wood usage. that's one of the reasons ive suggested adding the ability to create scripts in the game, for workers and for things like food / wood priorities.

If they are really using your juice then you must be running out of food because the nutrition value of those is so low that nearly everything else is higher.

Yap, soon they will be eating the vegetables you need for food. you probably should loose a bit of time and make a couple dishes yourself at least until your taberns keep it up

Does having access to high quality food and drink improves the villagers mood? If not it should.

Also for the OP try putting both the your cooks in the same tavern. That way their skill levels combine and they will produce more food than having 1 in each tavern. They should also level up faster.

I wish we had more than one building for food and drink production, there is too much to do in the tavern.

The simpler meals and soups should be made in the tavern but I would like to see a bakery where all the bread, pie and tart making is done and a brewery where the juices, mead and wines are produced. And while we're at it, a cheesemaker would be great to process the milk. :steamhappy:

On the food front I am surprised there aren't more fish recipes. Sushi? Fish pie?..plus ...no potatoes??

This game is set in early medieval Europe so none of those will be possible I'm afraid. Potatoes originate from southern america and were not introduced into Europe until somewhere in the mid 15 hundreds and sushi was only introduced in Europe in the last century.

I want sushi for dinner now though, yam! :steamhappy:

Make more than one tavern.. use one as a bakery, another for a brewery, and a third for a pub... :medidynasty_death:
