For wolves and boars you should be able to hit them while standing if the terrain is flat but if they stand on a lower ground than you then you will need to crouch.
Doing this I've been able to kill wloves, boars and foxes. I haven't tried the lynx yet and bears and bisent I kill from range with a bow.
Fox are small and I haven't killed one in melee for a while but I recall dimly someone saying it is easier if you crouch for those.
It would be nice to know if this is an oversight or intended though.
I have been summoned? ;D I'll ask.
Is that suspenseful music I hear playing in the background?
I wasn't even aware that the Knife 'could' be used as a weapon. I would have done before if I'd realized it was another Range issue.
