Arrow Damage?
Do the higher grade arrows (stone/copper/bronze/iron) have more damage or bleed or are they just more durable?

I do think the better the arrow, the more damage it does

They definitely do more damage, you can start hunting male deers when you have better arrows (1 hit kill with head shots I mean, I don't remember if it is with bronze or iron arrows though).

I started hunting deer with stone arrows - Have to follow them around but it can be done. Good point though now I think about it the copper arrows kill faster but I thought it was the bleed.

I just had confirmation of dev, the better the arrow the more damage.
Concerning durability, it's not that they're more durable, but the chances of them breaking are lower

TY for the update! - If you get around to talking to the devs again ask them if they plan on putting the damage ratings on the arrows recipes.

I'm gonna quote a dev: 'we know that lack of damage information is a problem'

TY for the info. I was pretty sure they already knew about it, how could they not be? Looking forward to more updates and happy no matter what they decide to do. Thanks again for letting me know that they actually do more damage. Back to playing!

just did a quote of a quote to say this quote is informative, despite the lack of information!

did it make sense?

You actually can get one-hit kills with stone arrows, but not in the head - I've hit bucks somewhere in the neck area and dropped them. Have done the same with wolves too. I won't try a neck shot with a bear or wisent, but three or four shots to the face with stone arrows seems to drop them well enough - heck, they'll even stop and pose for you every time you score one in their face, giving you time to load up the next shot.

metal arrows also does bleed out

Old thread but it fits to my question:

how does the bow/crossbow damage interact with the arrow/bold damage?
Is the arrow/bold dmg added to the weapon dmg or is it an average value?

I believe it adds. I face a wisent with an iron crossbow + iron bolts, it is 2 headshots or 4 body shots.

Using the breathtaker, it is about 20 swings to the body.

If it did not add, it should be more bolts to kill it.
