Autumn Update Part 2
As I suspected, clothes dying. But they're adding new clothes, which should make our female players happy since tailors couldn't make their clothes.

Check out the reworked combat portion of the video. That could make a lot of people very happy.

I hope the leave us the option to turn off bandits in the valley, or at least leave us a way to avoid this update. If I want combat I'll go play a different game.

Why do combat?? A thing that the majority of us die hards (the originals) do NOT want. Once again it looks like the devs are doing nothing for us. Is this a case of ....

"We don't want the original players, that's why we continue to TAKE away thing." Is that what what the devs say in meetings..??

What we would have liked, and I speak on behalf of a heck of a lot, Is to RESTORE what you took, You know ALL the things WE have been asking for?? There is NO justification for not having passing to heir on The Oxbow. No justification for making smart looking cooking places in the house BUT NO COOKING ALLOWED. No justification for removing firewood chopping... I can chop down a huge tree with a few swings BUT NOT chop firewood?? I can build a bridge that NO-ONE uses. I can build roads that NO-ONE uses...

What of all those ideas... Oh they don't matter... That's only what the originals want.

The big question now is WHAT ARE YOU REMOVING THIS TIME? ...
Oh yeah, the ability to live in a peaceful place that's relaxing to play in. If I wanted a combat game I would have bought one!

Yeah I get it. This is a purely financial decision to try to get more players. After all WE have already bought it, so we don't count any more. Just so you know WE would have gladly paid for a DLC with all those things that you took away or only half did. What of the next update after this.. Bandits that attack my villagers, kidnap my children and burn down my village?

One VERY disappointed and disillusioned player... Maybe soon EX player. Just what you devs want I guess, Get rid of us and no-one will keep suggesting these. When do you introduce Tanks, machine gun nests, bombers, and space ships... ?

This means I have wasted over 3,000 hours. If you had said 'We are going to add combat' I would have stopped playing. BUT YOU HAVE CONSTANTLY SAID THAT YOU HAVE NO PLANS TO ADD COMBAT !!!!!!!!

They reworked the existing combat system so that people who like fighting now have more options in a fight instead of the basic stab-stab. I assume that if you don't like fighting, you won't be forced to use the new swords and armour and can just ignore the bandits like before.
Instead you can focus on the non-combat things that seem to come with this update. Designing crests, picking a name for your village, new clothing, new decorations, and who knows what else since i think there might be more things that the trailer is not showing.

It says so at the end of the trailer. 27th of November.

There always has to be that one guy that complains about a free update....
As far as the Devs catering to existing players, may make sense in your head but from a financial point of view, doesn't make any sense. They already have your money, they want new players with new money.

actually I believe a lot more including myself would consider getting this if it had an option(with emphasis on OPTION) for more combat and dangers like ocational bandit raids or kidnappings...

Funny, since this is mainly a village simulator game...
Also if you think everyone during Medevil times was constantly fighting you need to read a book and watch less movies.

This is the only game of its type. It's a shame that they are considering changing that. Since you can already buy any one of them, why would you buy this? It will no longer be unique.

It is possible that both sides may be left with a sense of disappointment. There is a chance that the combat callers may still feel unsatisfied because the combat is still not sufficient, and the peaceful players may also feel dissatisfied because they are unable to avoid the combat to a satisfactory extent.

I think that's exaggerated. If you've had 3000 hours of fun, you've more than enjoyed the game.
Nevertheless, I am with you on the fact that once you've bought a (fully developed) game, it shouldn't change fundamentally.

We don't actually see much in the trailer, at least not that there's more combat, just that the system has been reworked. I'm a bit worried too, but we'll just have to wait and see.

I can understand why some players may be dismayed that combat is being introduced and @Morri has pointed out you won’t be forced to fight bandits if don’t want to. Perhaps the Devs to their credit have risen to the challenge of their new competition Manor Lords. I believe both games complement each other very nicely. I have only played the Valley map and sometimes wondered how Racimir could be the Lord of the Manor….

While I agree with this sentiment, old players still should be listened to and not ignored. When I say listened to I mean listened to, not DEVS DO WHAT WE WANT. Our opinions should be considered. The game has grown because of the old players, if we stopped playing after a few weeks/months the game would of died. The reputation of the game would of suffered, as we would never tell friends about 'this great game I am playing'. I am sure the Devs used us as a barometer, 'is this working for the players? yes/no'. Thats not a criticism, its common sense, its market research. That said my only complaint is what the devs have taken out of the game, as TheREALchris has pointed out. For the game to survive, it must evolve and grow.

I appreciate the hard work the Devs have put into the game. People being people will always complain and never be satisfied. What until the 26+27 Nov and see how many people are so excited about the update. On the 28/30 Nov people will start to complain. On the 1ST Dec, the ....'what is next on the roadmap, and when will it be delivered?'

Again Devs thank you.

wonderful if we get new clothes. i have been waiting for this, I thought this is such a men's game that you never get new clothes :-) and if we get more decoration, exp, develop garden flowers, roses, lilies and all other lovely garden flowers, makes me very interested. even if you could decide the names of the people born in your own village, perfect

Will saves created in the Valley in 2.1.1.3 prior to the update be reverse compatible?
Or will I need to start a fresh game?
