Oxbow Differences or Bugs?
I'm in Winter Year 2 in my first Oxbow game. I've noticed a few things about my game so far and have some questions about whether these are just things that haven't happened yet, or if they don't happen in Oxbow or if my game might be bugged.

1) Bandit/Outlaws? I feel like by this time I was running into the occasional bandit camp in the Valley but haven't encountered any here. Does it just take longer?

2) Challenges - will these start eventually or at they only in the Valley?

3) Season change events - I haven't had any random events, damage to structures or marriages happen yet (I know those can take awhile - my longest couple has been together for about 4 or 5 seasons and are 5 years apart in age).

4) Tasks to hunt more dangerous animals? I've only been asked to hunt badgers and rabbits by anyone. No boar, wisents, wolves or bears.

1. They are there. They spawn randomly at season change. When people claim they have been all over the map, they usually haven't... :-)

2. What do you mean with challenges? Do you mean the quests the king's herald gives? Those aren't there yet in Oxbow, but they will be added with the upcoming Autumn Update on the 27th of November.

3. Same with the events, those will also be added with the Autumn Update.

4. I don't know about bears or wisents, but I've definitely had wolves. The tasks become harder given time. Not sure if it's just based on how many years ingame you are or if it depends on doing the main quests or the amount of buildings you have. My guess is that's it just based on years ingame.

Villagers have a chance to marry or get pregnant when the season changes, that has nothing to do with the events that can pop up.

1) Bandits and outlaws are plentiful just roam the map.
2) challenges are many, just wait.
3) No more events at season change.
4) Task to hunt, look at the message board in town.

I have been all over the map but haven't encountered any bandits other than in Jaropelk's story. If there are no events at season changes, when do villagers marry or get pregnant and animals reproduce? Is it just random and can happen any day? I do check the message board - that's where I've had tasks to kill badgers and rabbits each 3-4 times and crows once I think. No other animals so I was wondering if I need to meet some milestone first.

Thanks. I am just basing my sense of bandits from running into them pretty consistently in the Valley and not having run into any yet despite running back and forth in a lot of areas each season. Not literally covering the whole map every season though for sure! I did mean the herald challenges. Good to know that the hunting quests will scale, and the Autumn Update will be adding some of the things I've been missing! :)

Just circling back on this one in case it's helpful to anyone else. As soon as I hit Year 3 in Oxbow, I started getting bandits all over, so I think there may just be a 2-year delay. Or if there are some before then, they're significant fewer/off the main areas. As soon as it was Spring Year 3, they were on main roads as well as off the roads and I've been running into multiple bands each season without going too far from the areas I frequented previously.

They are there from the start, but the amount of camps and bandits in one camp indeed increase after the first years. Devs don't want a newbie player character without good gear being jumped everywhere without being able to find a place to settle. :-)

I have 3 bandits setup a camp right next to my small farm every year. lotsa fun clearing them every spring because they are on my main route to the city...
