Can we dye banners & flags?

Does anybody know if the banners & flags can be dyed from the new dyes incorporated into the game from this latest update?

You can change the colour of the banner & flags by interacting with your village sign and changing your crest symbol and/or colour.

The dyes are only for clothes.

You unlock the recipes in the herbalist hut some colors are in hut 1 and some not till hut 2.

Every piece of clothing with the little x on it should be able to be dyed, correct? I tried dyeing a winter coat and it did not change colors.

You'll have to do the Herald's Quests to be allowed to build the village-sign.
After that, you can interact with the sign.
