Played my old Valley playthrough today (friday), Spring year 5, over 100 inhabitants, i ran into 3-4 groups of bandits.
All solo. Both springs were been entered into before the Wed update.
But apart from that I didn't see a single bandit...Almost every quarter I run the entire map... no highwaymen or bandits at tents, no roadblocks like "in the valley"... I read that it takes a little longer for the bandits to spawn. I hope so! I think it's a real shame that there are so few bandits in Oxbow... now we've got a great update with armor and weapons... but with fewer enemies!?
Or just the the smaller and bigger camps?
If so how often? Or is it just RNG?
I'm on oxbow to play MP with my wife.
YMMV
Doesnt make much sense, to try building somewhere to be away from it, because it always can spawn somewhere around, but never directly at ur Village. The Fixed Spots seem also to be used as Base Spots from time to time, just check it by running in the near of it, if there are spikes around an ruin, which normally dont have that, u know there are bandits in.
The greates Problem with the bandits is currently the incredible broken Weapon MEchanic, u do not see any of there weapons with ALT - Search , and when u kill them the weapons jump up and can flip hundreds of meters away. Which is specally completly broken because u cannot throw a wooden spear more than 15 meters , but an heavy iron X Bow Fly trough the Air like a Trebuchet Shoot.
Can you give me a screenshot of where to turn off the bandits for the oxbow?
spoiler: No, you can't, because there is no such setting in Oxbow.
Either you r badass good in this game and got everything out of the gamemechanics, or you play the game on an easy level.
For me it's my third "maxing out" run through on Oxbow rn, I play on 200% wood-/food-/water-usage and also 200% on Animal-/Bandit LP and Damage.
In year 2, with this settings, you shouldn't even be able to always kill the boars that will attack you, not even talking about bears or bandits.
So basically consider to make the game harder for you. A Bandit that have to take 2 Bow shots and 3 or 4 hits with a sword is much more difficult to take down instead of 100% LP with like 1 headshot with the crossbow.
