Just that real life does not work like that. And just to be clear, talking about what you said, not OP.
Also, give us a staff or quarterstaff, it's the ultimate farmer's weapon and deadly as all hell in skilled hands.
Nice to had quarterstaff in game, very useful for guard in town keep troublemaker human but not want to kill that person, unless it's bandit (not same troublemaker in town since bandit often will kill and out for blood and death, that is other story) or enemies army who want out for your blood, but lightly crime.
But in this game design, it's seem quarterstaff is useless since it's not based combat force other than hunting wild animal for food and cloth fur/leather.
