What's up with Bandits?

I ran into a camp of 3 bandits, one xbow, and 2 with Iron weapons. I hit the xbow bandit 5 times with a recurve + bronze arrow and he was still standing. I hit one of the melee at least 3 times with a copper spear, kept on coming. If you see they have Iron weapons should you just back off until you have Iron weapons too? Seems odd, especially the xbow bandit.

have you increased the health of the bandits ? because i'm playing on oxbow too and i need 1 stone arrow in the head and they are done

to be honest, its good they are hard, because once the camps are clear, they never return to camps, unless they fixed it, but the ones that spawn along paths come back at random locations but the cabins or bandit camps, they never respawn. I mastered everything, built everything and got bored, map is to small, and not enough to do once you devote for weeks into a game and learn it all, do it all, kill it all, farm it all, populate it all. Bored!

It isn't obvious all the time when they block, and when they do it seems they take no damage at all. They seem to be able to even block arrows - one was running up on me with a spear and I let an arrow loose point blank for a headshot. It honestly looked like he shrugged and the arrow bounced off.

Bandit camps respawn randomly at season change. That also means that once you kill all the bandits at a camp it will de-spawn at seasons change. Abandoned camps are permanent and do not spawn bandits. If you are playing the Oxbow map bandits will randomly respawn at the abandoned buildings during season change.

My bandits HP is still set at 100% and they can take a lot of punishment, I've posted scores of screenshots of bandits I've struck with iron spears and arrows, 3 spears to the chest aren't sometimes enough, it needs that last hit in the head with an arrow or a good whack with a spiked club or axe to finish them off. And they can and will take you out with one good arrow, I've been taken out whilst dashing around on a horse from an extremely accurate crossbow bolt also. It makes it more fun for me, if you're up against a gang of 5 and 2 of them have ranged weapons, you can hide behind a tree wait for them to fire and then let fly when they've shot into the tree, but they get wise and start to advance on you.
I spend about 75% of my game time hunting and fighting bandits, without this adventure, I'd be pretty bored just doing village stuff. If you want them to be easier to kill, just lower the HP value I guess.

If you want a real laugh, find some bandits near a wolf, wisent or boar spawn and draw them towards the animals or the animals towards the bandits, then watch the carnage lol The bandits normally win but will take damage and make your job easier. Net result, you kill the bandits and get their personal loot, the loot from the camp and a pack full of fresh animal meat I live for those interactions

Bandits attacking your village was never part of the game. The bandits will attack your character if you get too close.
