Wife quest: Its Laundering Time!

I'm a little confused on how to complete this quest. I did some quick Googling, but most of the responses were for much older versions of the game. Based on those responses, I built a Washtub(outside), but there's no interact option on it.

Then I walked across the river, the way I normally do to remove the 'Dirty' status, but this also seemed to have no effect on the Journal entry.

If it matters, its Winter. How do I actually complete this quest?

Have you filled the washtub with water?
Once you did, you can interact/wash yourself there.
This (washing) completes at the same time the quest task.

You remember correctly. If you have the clothes in your inventory, just washing yourself at a washtub will automatically wash the clothes as well.

Ah, I figured it out. I built a laundry workstation instead of a wash tub. Once I built a washtub, there was an Interact option to fill and bath, which updated the quest.
