No update to xbox one?

I did not belive it entirely when I saw that xbox one was left out in the update posts regarding the co-op update thinking "no they gotta do that, right?". But now I feel disepointed to say the least. Why is xbox one nearly the only platform excluded from the update, I don't get it. Are there not enough players on the platform?

It was announced very clearly that the update will only be coming to next gen consoles.
Xbox 1 and PS4 just aren't powerful enough to run the game with the update anymore.

Wasn't xbox one like released in 2013? You wouldn't play this game on a pc from back then either.
