Rabbit trap tutorial?
I have set tutorials to pop up but I didn't memorise the one about rabbits. Now I need to set a trap but is there a way to view tutorials manually? Or are they only popups?

You can find normally find all the info from the popup tutorials in the knowledge tab ingame. Though I don't see anything about rabbit traps.

Not really much to know tbh, It's in your crafting wheel under furniture and decorations, and then traps. Place it down, arm it and then just wait.
The location doesn't matter; you don't actually need to place it near a spot where rabbits frequent, but traps will only catch things when you are not nearby. So just go about your day and check every now and then to see if there's something in the trap.

Thanks, I'll take another look in the knowledge tab, but I never found the tutorials there before; first place I looked. Anyway, obviously I missed something. And traps are under furniture and decorations? My mind just never works that way. Too logical I guess. I spent a game day searching for a rabbit spot hoping something would trigger but no luck in finding a spot - though I had seen them before. While searching, a boar attacked me and I speared and skinned it. I couldn't find its body after that. Am I right in thinking its meat went into my inventory? I fancy I might have more than I had before.

I agree, it's not a good spot for it. I guess they didn't want to clutter the crafting wheel with a separate main category only for traps.
Just check out the different crafting options and buildings, and the different schemes you can buy and technology you can unlock. Fastest way to learn what is available (and afterwards remember you have seen it somewhere but can't remember where again :-P )

Once you come across an animal spawn point the first time, you'll get a mention and it gets marked on your map. You can just use the filters on your map to see all animal spawns you have uncovered. Easy if you are looking for a specific animal.
You can also pay a hunter to mark all the locations on your map at once.

That is correct. Once you skin an animal, all the materials you get from it will be in your inventory and the body will disappear.

OK, thanks. Also I see the tutorials now - well I've seen them before but didn't know they were the same tutorials that pop up because they are not named 'tutorials'.

Anyway, a new problem; I placed a rabbit trap then checked the map for its icon so I could I find it again. Seeing nothing, I figured it was under the player icon so I moved away a little. Still no icon. Fiddled with the filters but no joy. So I decided I must place a waypoint. I tried to get back to my rabbit trap but couldn't find it in the gloom of twilight. (Forgot my torch, though its range is limited anyway.)

In the end I gave up and went elsewhere to place another trap. But the game won't allow me more than one trap. So now I can never find my rabbit trap nor place a new one so I don't see how to complete this quest.

Might have to reload unless there's another way round it?

Set the map filter to trap and you can see your trap on the map: https://imgur.com/a/6tNQlIh

OK, thanks. There's more filters than I realised!

Also do note that there's no point (other than role-play) to put a trap on a rabbit spawn point; traps will catch animals at the same rate regardless of where it is. Also, building larger items on animal spawn points will disable the spawn point; I don't recall if this includes traps, but if the spawn point icon goes away next season, remove the trap and the spawn point should come back in a season or two.
