Can't turn in quest New Axe

Had someone ask me to make a stone axe. Easy enough. I already had one, but the prompt to hand him the axe didn't come up, so I assumed he wanted one fresh. Made one right then and there, but still no prompt to hand it to him. Am I missing something or is this bugged?

Go to your quests page and track the quest. Some quests are deliver more than one item even though they seem to ask for just one in the text.

Also note that if the item is equipped by you then you can’t hand it over for quest completion.
Frequently when you hand-craft an item the game automatically equips it in your inventory.
Whilst this is handy when you intend to use it, it’s annoying when it’s for a quest and you haven’t opened your inventory before speaking to the npc to see the game as auto-equipped it.

Yep, assign the slot of the axe to anything else then try it.

I figured it out. I had everything right, looks like. It fixed itself after I saved and reloaded. Assuming it was just a glitch.

The way I fixed it on Xbox is that I dropped the x on the ground and I picked it up whilst having the quest active. This worked for me.
