They've been focusing on fixes and stabilization and now focused on the console and non-Steam PC release. I suspect they'll close out the other items they wanted in the Oxbow before time ran out.
I don't believe I've read anything on seasonal events. Funny thing, I still do a quick save prior to a season change. A habit I picked up in the Valley.
As far as which map I like better? I think I like the Valley more, but I love the details of a couple of the villages in the Oxbow, especially Ostoya with Klonica in close second. Right now I've playing on the Oxbow, trying to slowly build by village. I have an game in the Valley that I like but it's too mature to do much with it. When I start another game, it will likely be in the Valley.
This game was nowhere near ready for multi-player and it has diverted a lot of resources that could have been spent making the game great instead of just ok. I imagine it was what "the community" wanted most though, and so that is what we got.
So I have mixed feelings. I've been playing in Oxbow. I prefer the Valley, except the main questline, which I've always felt was a bit stupid and too rigid. It is more a tutorial, I get it, but I don't need the tutorial anymore, it is not the most efficient path, and I want to do things my way. I do enjoy how Oxbow takes the training wheels off.
I did finish all the quests in year 4, but I was grinding through fast to collect data, and I probably did the same in the Valley honestly. I think there was a good amount and a good variety of quests. Some of them I really enjoyed, some of them I really hated. The ones I hate are mostly from the fishing village, and the fact that they evoke so much hate is a sign of they did a good job, since when the quests give you strong feelings, good or bad, they have engaged you. I would burn the village to the ground and slaughter every man, woman and child...that is how much I hate those lazy gits. I mean who gets out of bed at 10AM??? They are so lazy, they can't even go talk to the neighbor, they need you to do it for them. Not because they are shy or embarrased or afraid, but because they are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lazy!
I'm not a big fan of the herald quests anyway, but I do miss the seasonal events.
