Is Vegetable soup AFU?
Hi, I decided to switch from pottage to veggie soup in prep for more villagers (only have 4 atm and on 10 day season). Pottage (60 food), Vegetable (90 food) according to stats. But my villagers are gobbling it up like twice as fast?? I admit I have not yet verified files, but will do so at the end of day 5. Anyone else see this .. or ... will update after verifying files. Happy gaming :))

Soup also provides water, so your people may be using it for that, but it's quite inefficient compared to waterskins or water buckets, so I recommend only letting them use it for food. You can go into the Management menu and specify what they are allowed to use for water and for food.

Have you checked how many potage were made before you changed compared to the amount of veg soup you are making now.
There might be a difference in the amount which would explain your issue.

Yes. Disable all food items in the water demands tab. I had this issue. Disabled it in the food tab but forgot the water tab and was wondering why they were still eating it.

Hi, Thank you all for the replies .. I was begining to think about the water issue meself. Verified files and all ok. I have noticed that no buckets of water have been used, sooo ... agree that must be it. Me thinks I will go back to pottage :)) Thanks again and happy gaming :))

Yippee!! The water was definitely it! It's not like I don't have any "buckets of rain", I mean buckets of water .. :)) Game on :))

It's weird how buckets are high up on the priority list yet they don't prioritise it.

Indeed; they should definitely drink from the buckets of water first if you have them in the food storage and not start consuming your vegetable soup just cause they are thirsty.

Hello all again, It appears that now the situation is reversed! I'm on Oxbow map and my villagers are drinking the water, but .. NO food is being eaten .. ZERO .. I carefully looked at all in my food storage .. played 7 ingame days, rebooted at season change .. came back in for summer .. and now on day 2 in summer .. no change! Any one else?? Going to sell all veggie soup and go back to pottage, because that was working correct. Happy Gaming :))

ok, so you say they are not eating the food there, is there a symbol saying villagers are hungry? if so (and you have food in food storage) check your people demand control(thats press n and choose the 'log apple rain drop' on the top right. make sure under the food items, that veg soup is ok to eat, then recheck under water items it is not ok to use.

hope that helps, If not come back and someone will help you.

No, it's not a bug. When your villagers were not hungry, but ate the vegetable soup just to have water, the food value that the soup would give is not lost. It gets stored as well, so they won't need to eat again for a while, til all the stored food value of the vegetable soup they had is gone.

KK, but like 9 days without eating? You are the "OZ" so i believe you .. 10-4, still .. atm .. gonna keep pottage .. Tks :)) It might take like years for the food value to catch up then after they gobbled it up for water .. lol :))
