My pigs exit through the fence gate, Oxbow
Well, my pigs (Vernon, Marge, Dudley, Petunia and Daisy, got way too smart and nosy (in the case of Marge too greedy for Truffles) and are daily exiting their pig-pen through the wattle gate (wattle fence all around).
Is there a particular fence/gate that will keep them inside?
My sheep are very content within their stick fence and stick gate, and I did not bother fencing in my chickens and geese. "Free run eggs" always on the menu, sometimes roadkill under my donkeys hoofs.

i mean, listen up, i have 24 kids in my settlement!!! Its not immersive that they walk where ever they want to, the magically can walk and breath under water and walk on the other side of the settlement, until they decide to comeback for bedtime....
So a "Kindergarten" would be a nice addition -

Yes! In a large settlement, you end up with a bunch of little zombies headed back home in the dark well after bedtime. Creepy.

We need fence and gate snapping so that this can be prevented.
Built a fence for geese 2 times now and they still get out of it.

exactly.

Any news about some fixes or improvements on that matter?

Will we receive still updates or is the game already been abandoned?

I have no news about the children walking under water, but the game is still going to receive updates. Animals ignoring fences what the original post was about, is on the fix-list afaik.
You can also find the current roadmap in the pinned topic https://steamcommunity.com/app/1129580/discussions/0/4027970580223615280/

I'm sick of terms like "abandoned" though. This isn't a live service game and it has been fully released for almost 3 years already. So it's only normal that at some point the game will not get any updates anymore. Render Cube is a small company and we got a huge co-op update for free only a few months ago, and here people are complaining already about the game being "abandoned".

@Morri:

i´m sorry, i didnt wanted to sound rude. Ofc i know its not a life-service game, i only mentioned it, because i think i remember that "Mod Support" or similar was mentioned in one of the Roadmap posts in the past.

Mod Support would be very nice, maybe for some new jobs (kids-caretaker, like a "Kindergarten" for an older settler) So that the little ones are more centered in the Village.

Or also taking out your "wife" for a picknick with the kid (s). Or, what i think it would make sense, is that the wife is the "semi-boss" of the village and dont work by herself instead she checks if all is ok, do the talk to the villagers.

Mod support was never on the roadmap, but is asked for a lot. The devs have said that they might open the game up for modding in the future, but only when they themselves are completely done with it and are not planning anymore updates. So it's not a guarantee, but if they do it, it won't be for this year, since they still have a roadmap til somewhere in 2025.

I guess some people are just questioning and "wondering" about updates 3 years after release.
There are so many games that were in EA, were very promising and never reached a playable state or were buggy as hell.
People are sceptical cause of that.
But this game is an exception and the fact that developers are still bringing content in and fixing bugs is what makes players happy about it.
More people should start playing it because it's worth it.
Also it's not normal that content updates are all for free.
I mean look at the AAA games. They want money for every small DLC.
I say it once and I would say it again:
If the developers would think about monetizing future content to finance the whole project I would definitely buy these DLC's.
I want more. :)

@Morri
Perhaps add the question to the FAQ.

Is this game (about to be) abandoned?
No

I'll be sure not to answer those questions because people would consider me extremely rude when I do :lunar2019scowlingpig:

Just to add another opinion:

I love those cute little buggers that break out every now and then. It has provided some cute moments.
- Little chicks running through the fields just at harvest time. All my farmers were running around to rescue them.
- The rooster that visited the kitchen and almost landed in the soup when the cook saw him.
- The flock of geese that ran into the food storage late at night, one after the other - in a goose march - to plunder it.
- The geese who, however they got to the other side of the river, looked longingly at their family from there. I swear they were about to learn to swim.

Situations like that add some variety to the hard farm life and make the NPC's behavior feel more authentic.

edit: She is just so incredibly cute

yeah, that would be a nice addition. And i also love those Geese in game! ^.^

Let´s wait what future brings, all that i think can be possible with Mod-Support. I´m pretty sure there are talented Modders out there.
