How do you get my saddled donkey to chill?

I have two donkeys and I saddled one of them for riding. But at the end of the day, I bring him back to the shelter so he can rest. Only he doesn't.
The female one that I didn't saddle goes about here business while the male just stands there ready to go.
It doesn't matter if I unsaddle him or even take off of his items.
Is he ok? Do I need to do something to get him to rest or is he ok like that?
Will this effect things like rest, feeding and breeding?

I wish they would return to the normal horse/donkey animation when you take the saddle off, for immersion purposes.

Other than that, he's fine though. It won't affect him at all, and he'll eat the normal amount and still has the same chance to breed as the non-mounts.

Like Morri I wish they'd fix this, it's my pet hate.

Now this trick works with horses and might with donkeys - wait until the other one goes to sleep and then saddle her and immediately unsaddle, this makes her the "nominated" ride without (hopefully) waking her. The other one should then go to bed as normal.
