Did they lower prices or is there some new setting I'm unaware of?
I've just started playing again a long while after the new update and everything honestly just feels so much cheaper... saplings for example, I remember them being an endgame thing... or donkeys, I scavenged what I remember being the price of one and instead was able to buy 3 and a carriage back to the main town.

Was there some price balancing? Maybe the price of the main money makers was adjusted too? (flax seeds, knives and so on..)

i don't remember prices of stuff way back, but i got this neat "little" spreadsheet with current prices and profits.

A lot of prices and production rates have been changed (and are sill changing) in an attempt to make money a little harder to come by. To my mind some things are still a bit out of balance but they are still tweaking things so I assume it will all shake out eventually,
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

As foxglovez said animals are way cheaper, and yes sapplings are too, there were some other price adjustments, but afaik those two things are what got reeeally cheaper.

Basically just kind of restart your thinking on how you want to approach the economy. Thinking back to how it was will just confuse you. Give your mind a wipe. Easier for some of us than others. lol

I wanted to ask you if you know they lowered the sell price on stone knives? or are they still the way to easy start out?

Even in today's update to public_testing branch prices were adjusted: "- Pants prices changed".

You should expect tweaking of prices of various things likely until the co-op update release on other platforms.

They are not worth much anymore. You'll want to find other ways of making money early game now.

Yes, that's what I was thinking actually, I do remember things getting a bit stale last time I played since money became so easy to come by after a while...

So far I do enjoy the changes, makes you have to think a little bit more about production chains early on rather than just spam-crafting spoons or knives
