Why cant we skip seasons when it is winter?

What am I supposed to do, stand around in my cabin for the next two days? It is winter and I just recently found a vendor that sells clothes but I haven't enough coin. I can't get crafting materials to make axes or something to sell because it is freezing out. If I could skip the winter then I could do something.

Yeah first winter in this game can suck if not prepaired, you can craft a few torches then just take them out when you go places you wont get cold.

You can always change season length to 1 day in Autumn so you get a 1 day winter. On that winter day remember to change season length back to your normal setting.

Clicking on the bed allows you to sleep next day or season. For day it has to be a bit into the night forget what time

Like said above, if you carry a lit torch around with you, you won't freeze and can gather the materials you need.

Winter is supposed to be the season you and your village "survive" through, the rest of the seasons are there to prepare.

If anything winter is too easy after the first one. just Light a torch and you are golden.
