woodshed and log production
Question. I want my worker to produce logs. I already assigned xx% to my worker to get logs and already put some stone axe in the crates.

Do I have to place the woodshed nearby woods area?
When my worker produce logs, where I can see these logs? (I already built resouce shed as well)

Thx

The woodshed can be anywhere, the logs he produces are, so to speak, plucked out of thin air. He (or indeed She) will put the logs into the resource storage.

Note that stone axes don't last long so you need to give him a goodly supply of them also in the resource storage or in the woodshed chest but resource storage is more "usual" as all workers put their produce into and take their tools/raw materials from either there or, in the case of food, the food storage.

I see. Thx. Now I Just learn that I can simply put the axe and all tools in my resource storage.

SInce you mentioned food storage, do I put bucket with water into food storage or resource storage for NPC to consume?

Drinking water goes in Food Storage.

Tip: If you click on an item in your inventory and look at the description, it will tell you where to store it so NPCs can find it.
Oh, by the way, you probably won't see your lumberjack out cutting trees more likely they will just work in the woodshed. Even if they do appear to cut trees (that animation does exist) they don't actually cut them down. The same applies to all workers with the exception of farmers, the actions you see have no bearing on actual production. Only farmers actions actually directly affect their productivity.

So if you see., for example, a lumberjack seemingly making planks with a plane that does not mean they are not producing logs. However if you see a farmer standing around doing nothing then there is a problem to be solved.
As Philtre said. almost all foods production items go into food storage with (for some reason) the exception of flour which goes into resource storage (along with bowels for putting food into). Wine and the things that make it (Apples/Berries etc.) are also "food".

Oh! good to know. I normally leave the stumps, because I want them to regrow back.

He means visually. You can see them doing the cutting animation on stumps as well, but they won't actually remove the stump, so don't worry.
