Ability to rename villagers
Is there currently a way or is it in the road map to allow us to rename our villagers/heirs? I really don't like the names currently given and I feel it would add a bit of customisation to the game.

Would you like to be renamed by your boss?

I also strongly agree to some form of proper naming convention.
Later game lists makes it so messy to find stuff....

Also make sure that houses can be fully stocked with people...
As for now the houses all work the same and can only hold 2 people at a time, regardless of what level or size the house is.... which is not ideal, I must add....

I agree with renaming our character, child buildings and village, but to rename workers no.

Ummm. I think I was. I can't post my name on here due to Steam censoring the comments but it wasn't the name my mama gave me thats for sure. Sad thing was that after 15 years I answered to it and came to it when it was called like a good company puppy.

Oh I agree on the renaming. I have a pair of Prezebors who look and dress the same. Only difference is their ages.. Housing is a nightmare to keep up with. (especially with a new bug that just switched my house with the neighbors. Nope not my imagination. Woke up in a house with a strange wife rocking a baby and a tiny tot asleep in the corner. My stuff was in the chest just like I left it. My wife and kid came out of the neighbors house just like they lived there. Their firewood I gave them still in their chest. Twilight Zone episode music playing in the background). But renaming houses would make it easier to carry out a village move or even a simple village housing upgrade. But renaming would be really cool to have.

Personally, I would like to see more English style names. Maybe the list of names could be included in the translation files so each language/culture would get names more appropriate to them?

For me, I think what makes them so hard to remember is because of how foreign they are to me. I understand the names may be appropriate to the time/locale but I think this is one of those things that's ok to compromise on for the sake of gameplay/player.

I would also like to see last names or family names. It's ok for more than one person to have the same first name if we can differentiate between them with last names.

I also agree with the ability to rename villagers, too. Streamers sometimes like to put some of their viewer's names in the games they play.

Well, like you said, it depends on the time and place, what names we read and I think I read in one of the Q&A responses that it is important to the developer that the people have local associated old names. Here are Polish and partly German names. Surnames, have only developed in the next centuries, mostly from professions. Like Racimir the blacksmith

There could be textfiles for the names and the game picks them randomly from this lists.
So we can modify them by hand.
And of course I want to give a name to my child.

All names are old polish names. Even for us, polish people, they are odd :D. I assume they are hard to pronounce so hard to remember for everyone else. Cant imagine devs focusing on changing these names at any point but wishing you luck.

not only. One or the other is also German. What is also normal the German and Polish culture have a long common history and the DEVS are half Polish and half German.

Why can we not leave it as it is? What do English names have to do with central europe? And especially here in poland? That is the charm of the game!

I agree with ladix, I wouldn't like to see english names in this game. This game is set in the early Middle Ages in Central Europe, so the names are just right!

Same. It would be really odd if you could change the names of already named villagers, as has been mentioned here before. But maybe your wife could suggest a couple of names for your child, instead of just one, you could pick one and wouldn't feel left out.

Maybe we could get a freer name choice for our village or for animals instead, as a compromise of sorts.
