Technology - Building
Anyone else having a problem getting this beyond 4000 - I have 26 buildings - many were replaced with higher tier buildings and all my houses are stone with plaster. I been making walls and fences and cutting down trees like a beaver yet only get 1 to 5 points. I even build building just to tear them down. I need the mining building but by time I get to it I won't need it cause Im doing the mining in cave myself.

Now I have 30 buildings and still did not hit 5000 for the mine - ahhhhh
(this is were I hit a wall with this game and go to another)
I hit 5000 yesterday...because I destroyed all of my fields and rebuilt them

I have somewhat over 8 000 at the moment and since I first saw your post I've been trying to remember how I even got them. I haven't really built that much, not grinding for points or anything. I didn't take that side quest which rewards you with points that often either. I wish I could tell you a trick, because I can imagine how frustrating it must be, but I honestly have no idea what I did differently from you. Maybe the building technology fairy helped me out?

Before the beta version - I got to the mine with no problem - not sure if they moved it down a tier or reduced the amount of tech points you get when building. I am 340 points short of 5000 - I either have to destroy some building and rebuild them (you get 14 points for a small house) or cut down 340 trees (which is really a needless grind).

Don't fields go into farm tech?
The problem is mining rocks don't add to the construction tech
I'm also stuck at ~4000. Building technology goes really slow, and I'm desperate for getting access to that Mine! :)

Correct me if im wrong but doesn't your workers cutting down trees add to the building technology, as well as, mining?
Yeah, I have 13188 Building tech. Most of it from wood cutters, miners, and clay diggers.

I had the same problem - one way was getting the repair building quests from NPCs at different villages - they give a lot toward building.

Yeah, I just completed one. I'm going try covering all the houses with daub, maybe that helps.

I'm looking forward to when the team equalizes all the technologies in order to avoid this disparity.
building technology exp is one of the necessary limitation to avoid a too quick expansion that would make the game quickly ininteresting.
If you cut a lot of trees goes at a pretty good rate imo.
reaching mine too quick, or unlocking all building too quick and you have your 30 buildings, and everything by year 7 (that's my case...I'm kind of a rusher...) and then you're like "ok, that's it ?..."

keeping it a bit slow force the player to diversify its activity (because he can't build new buildings) to go hunting, questing, crafting. without more game content that's pretty much the smarter solution to keep the player a bit longer to let the time for the dev team to develope the game.

Makes sense. And to be honest, whenever there is more content it'll bit a bit faster to level up through the content, but at the same time, having more things to do will limit the amount of time you spend building if you so chose.

So, long story short: More content will make technology grinding better.

We will patiently wait, this game is awesome!

Back when she made the post, she was just a gamer. Much later she started to work for the publisher (Toplitz), so she isn't a dev right now either. Steam just doesn't have a different tag available to make that distinction.

Please keep in mind that this thread is 3 years old by now and a lot can change in 3 years. No need to go dig up old posts to try and dunk on people.
can we lock this then? I was about to suggest doing side quests that give building XP as a way to get past 5k.
