Think of it as borrowing a Netflix account (nower days). While the owner is watching Amazon you can stream what you like.
To be fair, this has been the case since very early CS games and mods. Same product key etc. Welcome to PC gaming.
For NetFlix, I can understand that people shared their account on different IPs, it wasn't just for NetFlix but in the same damn house..... come on..... in the old days, I used to to buy games and install it on each PC in my house, since it's a single address and always the same owner. It's stupid to make people pay twice for the same game just to play on local network. I feel cheated by this kind of scheme, after that they complain about piracy. I always pay for my games but I want to be reimbursed when I see that.
It should at least take into account that people have multiple PCs at home. At least if there was a discount for multiple purchases for the same user.... that would be OK.
This is a really stupid comparison, it's obvious that two people can't drive the same car at the same time. Here we are talking about a video game and there's no physical restriction.
Then buy the GOG version when the co-op update releases later this year.
Also, Valve clearly states the terms of how Steam Family Sharing works. See for yourself:

Next time you want help, stop being antagonistic towards people helping. Oh, that analogy is just fine. Stop being defensive to justify your childish anger.
Thanks, I rarely buy games on steam, so I'm not up to date on everything.
I'm not angry, I don't see the help he provided me other than comparing oranges with apples and telling me that it's normal. I just said what I think, maybe his next answers will be more intelligent.
Cya,
Don't know how old you are, but I used to play a lot of games with my sister and most CD games always required the CD put into the drive for MP, so you couldn't just pay for one copy and play with 2 people. You could usually play singleplayer without the CD but not multiplayer.
Exception for split screen games in example, but that should be obvious, as you still don't need two copies for split screen games.
It still sucks, no question. But consider this: The devs spend a lot of time and money in producing and maintaining the game. Why should they give away the opportunity to sell another copy. Two players want to play, two players need to pay.
You wouldn't go to a roller coaster and pay for one person expecting to be able to take another person with you. And just because the roller coaster is something physical, doesn't mean software doesn't have similar features. The only difference is, that people used to clone something they shouldn't have just because they could and I get it. Everyone would just clone their car instead of buying a new one if they could.
Gaming has always been a huge luxury hobby with the unfortunate thing being our current time, inflation and people not having much money left over for luxury goods.
For a solution: If you haven't played Medival Dynasty for 2h or more, you can refund it through steam and buy a GOG copy, as someone suggested. But you will have to wait for the multiplayer update, as right now it's only on steam.
I come from the Amiga era. At that time, there weren't many multiplayer games and the games very often required a key, I could install it in all my PCs without problem.
If I bought Adobe Photoshop and installed it on two PCs at home I have no problem and the license is valid. Why should I pay twice for the same games for personal use. I don't resell it.
I'm a programmer and I buy all my software so I understand better than anyone the need to buy software. In this case I simply find it to be abuse and the license is not appropriate.
thank.
Same with the 3.5 inch disks and the floppies.
Don't have to be that old, anyone old enough to play games with his son should fall in to this category since only since about 1998 the lockouts came in to place slowly (mostly based on keys)
Think UT, Warcraft and such (tho those were playable on multiple pc's without issues in most releases as well)
Being 26 or older while having a kid who is of age to play with you, doesn't sound strange to me
Try to look at it as if you yourself are a software developer. You would also want to get paid for every use of your software. I am very, very much of pro-customer person regarding quality of products and services prvided since I pay for it.
But in this case, there is no malicious pracitces. It is correct to want to get paid for every player who plays the game. Besides in Medieval Dynasty you will get much much more content in free updates compared to many many AAA games, where you spent triple the initial price for DLCs.
You know what I got left from the Amiga era? About 3000 floppy disks in the attic...
Back then games didn't come with as much keys, but copy protection, code wheels. Manuals needed look up etc. Pirating and share games with friends easly facilitated by cracks and make copies with X-Copy. I don't think that era should be held up high as some shining beacon...
Multiplayer was at large limited to splitt screen and sometimes LAN.
If the game is worth playing it's worth buying. You can already family share, just not multiplayer..
