Why is it trying to connect to Epic online services? I don't want to connect to that thing thank you. Never done it before. Should i be worried?

It's been connecting to it for quite some time now. EOS is needed for the co-op update. You simply cannot play on the Oxbow without it (not solo either).
Only thing that was added with the current patch was the message so there's logging that can help with connection issues.

I just saw this today ("Connecting to Epic Services") once.
Now, when trying to join my friend's coop, the loading screen stops at 95% and does not fully connect. Have shut down, rebooted, checked for updates ... still won't let me connect.

When was the last time it still worked?

The loading bar issue could be because of this:

Also make sure not to block anything from Steam Services, EOS or the game through your firewall or antivirus.

Not to necro a topic, but truly.. online service is useless to people who place solo :/

I know it's also used for achievements when you are solo; as we had people on the forum who didn't get achievements because they blocked EOS through their router.
