XBox/Epic/GOG vs Steam updates
With the co-op update coming this year, I have questions about updates which will come after this. I play Medieval Dynasty via an XBox PC Game Pass, which is at version 1.5.2.2 currently.

In the future, will all platforms receive simultaneous updates? If not, why not?

As far as I know, they should receive all updates. At least they always did in the past. It'll be quasi simultaneous probably, with maybe a few days delay depending on how fast the platform accepts/approves the submitted changed version.

Co-op was a bit of a special one since it requires different coding to get the connection mechanisms to work, so it'll have to be sorta custom made for each platform, which is why there's such a delay for non-Steam platforms.

The past updates came out same time on other platforms. The co op update is different beacuse they had to rework the multiplayer connection system for each platform so there was a delay.

I assume future updates will come at same time again.

That makes sense, thank you.

Yes, as announced before co-op hit; non-Steam platforms will get the update in Q1/Q2 this year.

Still no update on GOG. I doubt I will support another rendercube product in the future.

They said Q1/Q2 and Q1 isn't over yet. How this renders your non support is questionable.

What is questionable is the fact the game gets updated only in one platform. I've never seen that in a full released game, that's Early Access behavior right there.

I've never seen a full released game get that big of updates for free either. That explains it fine for me. Also they say the others will get it too they just need more time. People cannot wait for good things anymore.

Don't get me wrong, I can wait, and I will but what I'm saying is just a fact. I'm really greatful they keep adding content to the game, but we all paid for it and we all deserve the same treatment.

So everybody should wait longer with no testing and nothing showing what they are even doing? There are negative sides to everything. I don't say that because I have it on Steam and was lucky. I hope it doesn't sound mean. I wish we could all play together. I have waited for games to come out for me before as well for far less good reasons.

Welcome to real life vs an ideal world.

If it's not ready, it's not ready. And it'll be released when it's ready. Which was said to be Q1/Q2 this year.

It's quite extreme to make that comparison and completely unnecessary.
@Kalli_Opeia, it's ok, I understand.

How is it extreme? In an ideal world the network programming on all platforms would be ready at the same time. But it's not. I don't see the point in complaining about it when it was clearly said beforehand it would come Q1/Q2 for the non-Steam platforms.

If you want a statement from the devs on why it took longer, you can find it here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1129580/discussions/3/7599331177360845863/#c7599331177360868237

I love seeing xbox and gog and other platform players coming to team to complain about how the game works on that system. cry me a river. go complain there or, I dunno, buy the game on sale in steam and enjoy it how it was designed initially to be played because this is the dominant platform for it? sheesh
