For what it's worth: 1 minute in real time is about 30 minutes game time and if you wake at 7.am and sleep at 10pm every day that about 30 real minute per game day. On a three day season thats 1.5 real hours per season x 4 making 6 real hours per year.
Of course I'm notoriously bad at arithmetic so take that with a pinch of salt :-)
Time passes at a rate of 120 IRL seconds per in-game hour.
( 30 days * 24 hours - 7 hrs per season start ) * 4 seasons * 120 IRLsec per gameHr / 3600 seconds per hour = 95.06 IRL hours if your character never sleeps.
EDIT: Half as much if you sleep at exactly 1900 every evening.
Depends which map you are on. If you are on Oxbow you hasve the option to respawn at your house when you die since it is the co op map even if you are playing solo.
Valley map this is true, any death without an heir gets a game over screen and you have to load a save.
Dope thank you :D idk where i got 15hours from LMAO, a single season would be roughly 15 irl hours if you take sleep into account then? thats good to know seems like ill have more than enough time to mess around, i was worried it would feel like i had to rush to get things done before my character died
If my 2 cents are worth a nickel, start with something like 6 days and go from there.
I would not recommend increasing the season length. It's a pretty common regret for new players. The beginning feels like you're in a rush, and more time for each season sounds good. But you're not in a rush. It's ok to take it slow, even at 3 day seasons. If you want to play with the generational system at all, increasing the season length is a bad idea. Most people have fully built up their village and run out of stuff to do by the time the first generation of children are old enough to actually start working, even on 3 day seasons. One of my most enjoyable runs was when I played one day seasons, though getting the farms done in one day was rough. I don't know what percentage of players have actually stuck with a playthrough long enough to die of old age, but I would bet it's extremely low.
