We do not recommend using a hex editor to edit the limit yourself in your savegames, as this could cause weird bugs and problems with future updates.
Valley map slowly opens up the building limit when you complete the chapter (tutorial) quests. Nothing to do with reputation though.
Yes i did. It seems actually 140 is the limit.
Strange. I have around 150 inhabitants and 130 buildings and everything is working smooth. Loading time is fast, no framedrops, no instability at all.
I have 64GB DDR5 RAM and a RTX 4070TI which probably helps a little bit. So i would apreciate 200 buildings at least.
Ah that makes sense. This is my first time playing on Oxbow. Have always played Valley in past.
That make sense. I dont play hardcore but not too easy. But then a higher limit would be no problem.
It really sucks that I have to be careful to choose what buildings I can and cannot use.
Especially since storage buildings do not actually have all that big storage.
Is there any chance the game developers will start to let you just upgrade the buildings instead of having to build new ones?
It would certainly solve the storage problem if you only needed one building, and then just expand the space in it.
Same for the farmer sheds. I wouldn't need so many if more people could work in one.
It makes sense that you start with smaller buildings and work-forces, but this game is meant to go on for many-many generations. And that means more houses -must- be built, and you have to make food for a growing population and their children, and store both food and materials for it.
It's REALLY irritating to have limits.
Especially as strict limits as this.
If a player has a pc that isn't good enough to handle it, wouldn't it be better to allow each player to choose their own limit or have it limitless, based on their own knowledge of how their pc works?
I play on a laptop that isn't even all that good. (AND is dying from age and overuse, and because I never turn it off.)
And I have reached the building limit with zero problems playing the game.
So clearly the limit is pointless.
And even if it wasn't, shouldn't the player be allowed to choose how much lagg they're willing to deal with?
Or have I misunderstood this, and the building limit for Oxbow increases with each year passing?
That would be one acceptable solution, if the point of the limit is to show a more realistic city-growth.
What buildings do you need to build new? All the upgrades are built on top of the original. Doesn't affect the building limit.
