It was stable before the big update. I have not run into many issues playing solo on the new map.
Go play Starfield. BGS just might be your kind of dev group.
There's always tabletop games but the damn pencils keep breaking.
I had no choice.
It's Update or Don't play! I did not want to update because I did not want multiplayer. I did look around first, This new update is just a double game that allows you to play the old one as before.
( But now that I've played a bit I see you don't HAVE to play Co-Op so it's okay I just started a new solo game.) But it's really two separate games. I guess that's why you HAVE to update.
The co-op update comes with a new map (the Oxbow) that you can play solo as well. It has a different story and some mechanics differ, but you can still play the old map (the Valley) if you like. Keep in mind that there have been some balance changes in pricing, animal behaviour, production values etc on the old map as well.
If you still like to play the old version from before the co-op update though, you can still redownload it by opting into the last_build beta branch: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1129580/discussions/0/4027970229982132939/
