I can't give my husband a gift

I can't give my husband a gift. When I want to give him a gift, an empty menu opens, even though I have a gift (first a ring, then a flute) with me. His affection is now under 70. I can give gifts to our child.
What can I do?

If they are what I think they are, those you can only give to female npc's. It should say in the description of the gift whether it's for a man or a woman.

I found a coverlet as loot - when I tried to give this to my husband, it also didn't appear in the gift menu ... pre-upgrade, you used to be able to gift some 'found' items as gifts, such as coverlets, Malvasia, etc. Since the previous fail, I bought a gift from the vendor in Pistovia - I did manage to give this gift to my husband and I gained +10 affection points

Again, check the description of those. It'll mention that those are gifts for women.

Thank you , that helped me so much. I haven't seen, that there are gifts for male and female

I'm curious why there needed to be gendered gifts, that seems unnecessarily divisive for modern times. I think my wife would beat me to death if I told he that some of her xmas gifts were not gender appropriate.
