Did I lose my 4+ hour save file?
So I tried playing Co-op with someone this Saturday and I don't think I made a dedicated save file for the game we were playing (I used a quicksave as opposed to a named save). I injured myself this weekend so I spent most of Sunday playing solo in the Oxbow in a different save and now I don't see the save that I had going with my friend listed. As a note, I was the host, so I presume the save would be in my files only.

Did I just cost us hours of work or might that save be hidden in the program files somewhere?

Thanks for your help, I don't wanna be that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ who costed someone hours of work on a village only to lose it.

Autosaves get overwritten, no matter whether it's single or coop. Only games in valley/oxbow get saved seperately. I also lost my first solo game by not naming the save. You have to name a save if you want to keep it.

I am thinking I messed up to. I have saves on my valley, but I went to play oxbox with my husband. Afterward, I created a new oxbow for myself. I then went back to play the one with my husband and I clicked through every save and game that he and I spent hours on just doesn't seem to exist. I'm not sure if I should just stick to one valley save and one oxbow save, or try it again and name the save. Not sure. I am not sure if the above post is saying that If I named it, I wouldn't have lost it, and then I can have two saves in oxbow? Or perhaps make my husband be the host since he only plays with me.

I love this game, and if I had one complaint.... the save option would be it. I wish it had a few slots for different saved games instead of running the long list and having to pick through it to find what you want to load. I guess if they did that though.. then there would be complaints from those that want to go back to a previous save. So, idk.

Yes if you name the saves then you can multiple runs going. Autosave and Qucisaves get over written. You have to make a manual save and name them for them to stay.
You can have multiple Autosaves (Autosave,Autosave1 etc.) at least I've had multiple end of season and quest completion autosaves (not sure how many) but you can only have one Quicksave.

Naming your saves, yes, as many as you like (well, not actually as many as you like but 20,30,50? I don't know but I do know it will eventually say "too many".
