Frame rate ????
My game has suddenly become jerky and flickers when the torches light. Is this the frame rate (I'm not clever like that), If so do I increase it or decrease it ?? I haven't built any more recently....

True my screen is OLD!!! Well we went and bought a new one HD.. or summat (and 2 controllers for HIS game thing...)

So he plugs it all in. updates ALL the drivers on the computer (It is fairly new, decent cards etc He updated most stuff last year. ) and now all is fine...

I'm not sure it was the monitor... Maybe... Well I'm sure he wanted them posh expensive controller things.... But all seems back to how it was before 2.0.0.0.2

Thanks for your guidance..

It flickers? Uhm could it be that the flickering comes just from the torches' fire?
Or what kind of flickering do you mean?

I mean, what's your framerate? Lighting can be demanding so it may indeed be lowering your FPS. Go to "Steam - Settings - In Game - In-Game FPS Counter" and turn it on to check your FPS. In general, 60fps is considered to be the baseline for smooth gameplay, but that can change depending on your monitor and personal standards.

Is this in Oxbow or still on the Valley map? I notice a very small lag spike in Pastovia when the evening falls and all the lights come on automatically. But after that it's fine again.

Sorry not to be clear. The frame-rate is 75 (and always has been). During normal daytime It seems to stop / go and shake.. Juddering. When the torches come on It gets worse and it the scenery seems to shake and jerk rapidly when I move. It's not the visual effects of the torches.

When riding or walking It's like I move and a second tater he picture catches up. Almost like everything is on a go slow. This causes a jerking as when the screen 'catches up.'

I'm playing solo Oxbow.

Some easy things you could try already:

- verify the game files to make sure nothing is corrupt: right click Medieval Dynasty in the list of games in your Steam library, pick 'installed files' and then 'verify integrity of game files'

- update graphics card drivers

- change to DX11:
<escape> - settings - graphics - rendering mode - DX11 (Don't forget to accept changes at the bottom)

- try changing the windowed mode ingame to fullscreen windowed: <escape> - settings - graphics - Window mode - Windowed fullscreen

If that doesn't work, you might have to turn down the graphic settings in game a bit, but it's a bit weird when you never had an issue before the co-op update.
