Exception are single arrows and bolts; those'll disappear over time to prevent the map being cluttered with lost arrows and bolts from your hunting adventures.
Only be careful with food items, cause those spoil instantly on season change when dropped on the floor (unless you turn on the customisation setting that you want to use them as decoration).

Right now I am dropping meat in the barn to rot as I have hundreds of excess hunting for leather and over abundance of food for my small village.
