I know it's a new game, I got a response from the devs of that game on their YouTube channel.
What I meant more specifically is if this main game will get VR support.
I see. Well that's a shame, but it's not the end of the world as I do own a Quest 2 so I can buy the VR spin off when it eventually arrives on the Quest Store.
Not really normal. Plenty of games out there that have a full body in VR. It IS a lot easier to do floating hands though. Prevents a bunch of visual issues for one.
Also I hope we can get a PC port at some point.
I am tired of all the android/Quest Only VR games....(PC is getting shafted and its insane)
i dont want to have to downgrade to a quest headset just to play VR games....
also as sanquin said, its not normal to see just hands.
something the first few years of VR did, but i find games that have a toggle for it on or off is better. seeing your whole body is more immersive then just floating hands(i find that lazy now just to see floating hands... its not hard to do).
I bet it's because facebook (still refusing to call them meta) is funding a lot of these vr games with the stipulation that they'll be quest exclusive, or at least exclusive for like a year or longer.
if i remember hearing before, they where sued because they where trying to buy up everyone.
But the amount of good games being quest "only" is insane.
my pimax 8KX and 5K+ are going to waste
(i have index controllers and Full body equipment too).
So the quality of the VR games are diminished as they have to develop for Android builds.
(more limitations too)
no, it's because Quest dominates the VR market, over 40% of Steam VR users are on Quest.
Your information is wrong. The FTC tried to sue Meta to stop them buying Within, the makers of VR fitness app Supernatural. The FTC lost in court.
The amount of good games being "Quest only" is because Quest is the dominant headset in the market. PCVR headsets are miles behind.
PCVR developers are not "developing for Android builds", they're making separate versions. The amount of ignorance in your post is quite frankly astonishing.
really...its why i said "IF i remembered", i forgot what exactly happened(happened years ago), and i knew they where trying to monopolize a lot of company's back then.
also, you're talking to a game dev who primarily does VR development since 2017.
of course they're going to do more quest, as its picking up more sales compared to PCVR.
but the fact of the matter is, we're not getting cross platform/PC versions too.
(it should not matter if PC sales are lacking, its more lacking because the lack of VR games too..its getting to the point that there is no point in having PCVR now)
Also, If you're going to come in here and be toxic, grow up.
"The amount of ignorance in your post is quite frankly astonishing."
its sad, and shows how immature you are.
Correcting someone for their ignorance is not toxic. Maybe you should learn what the difference is, because according to you, I should have not corrected your misinformed information and let anyone else reading the thread think your information is correct.
Being a VR developer does not make you immune from criticism, anymore than a police officer is above the law.
That is why I replied, there is far too much misinformation online now from people who have no idea what they're talking about because they don't do any research whatsoever before they post.
Case in point : you said "we're not getting cross platform/PC versions too."
I'm sorry, but that is just wrong. There are PC versions of Quest games but they are only available on the Oculus App for PC, so you need a Quest in order to play both versions.
Quest games with crossbuy/PC versions on the Occuls Store:

Developers are moving away from Steam PCVR but Quest PCVR is still alive and well.
