Have an issue with Temperature
I currently have the best clothes possible for Summer, and yet my character is way too hot. Not only does he keep complaining (which is driving me a bit crazy) but it's doing a number on my thirst. Not sure what else to do, besides running into a lake once in a while to shut him up; though it is pointless.

Is this how its supposed to be from now on, always too hot? I really do not want to waste skill points in the temperature skill, so some info would be appreciated.

with 3 points in insensitive skill, my character is not complaining during summer anymore. :steamlaughcry:

I gotta admit, I forgot there were 3 pts to get in "insensitive skill." So they do have a means of avoiding the tedious remarks. It takes a long time before summer seems bearable. I also believe that the first few years the weather is more "forgiving" by design. These two things can lend to my perspective (ignorance) of feeling like an update or something has caused a bug.

Ok, everyone, reed OP. Says they have the best clothing for summer
Try saving and reloading, sometimes your temperature tolerance doesn't update properly when you put new clothes on.

They claim that they have the best clothing for summer - but do they? They haven't listed what clothing they were wearing and I would argue that if they keep overheating then they do not have the best clothing for summer.

Honestly I had no issue with heat in my previous game or in the new game I just started recently. In the new game I saw the too hot message a total of one time in my first summer, I got a straw hat and never saw that message again. Get a bit too cold in the winter because I do not have top end winter clothing yet.

2. I survived the first summer with the starting clothes and one straw sun hat?

Yeah, same. Never had a single issue with heat as long as I slapped on a straw hat and this was before putting any points into the temperature tolerance skill.

Pears and food made from pears also help for a time. If you have a decent pear orchard, you can grow enough to go all summer.

This has got to be a glitch. I have not had this problem till now. I can't even cool off going into neck deep water. I have even strip off the shirt, pouch and backpack and still he whines. I have been in and out of the game and no change. It does it at night pitch black. I have been having to restart my game just to get my character to go to bed. This is in the Valley to, not Oxbow. All the villages have changed with the new updates. Don't make the Valley not playable with all these updates.

Wear gear that has heat protection. Stripping naked is not the answer. On days when it's super warm just like in rl, there's not really much you can do other than carry some extra water with you to keep hydrated (you won't take damage from being overheated, but your water meter will drain a lot faster).

To me the skill is a waste when compared to the others, especially since I never needed it before. As for winter, no problems there, but during summer, even though I have the best clothes possible to combat the heat, my character still gets too hot. It didn't happen at first, but now it does, so that is why I was wondering if it's supposed to be that way or if something is off or perhaps they were still working it all out; cuz, I'm considering clicking the temp effect off since there is nothing I can do to keep cool during summer, unless I use up those skill points. Not to mention, he does get rather annoying complaining every so often.

I just turned it off and up'd the difficulty a touch on food and drink or critter/bandit damage to compensate. I was like you, couldn't make the dude happy with temps... seemed like no matter what I did...and my town isn't near a lake so that's out.... I got annoyed and turned it off....been happier since. I may turn it back on in a bit, but for now, no more complaining from my character.

I don't want things taken away, mind you. Glad folks got the game play they want... glad I can turn it off too. Everyone wins.

There's also food and potions that will help, and ofc the skill that lets you be less affected to temperatures.

you dont have to max the skill, just put 1 in thats enough if you wear the proper clothes
