They claim that they have the best clothing for summer - but do they? They haven't listed what clothing they were wearing and I would argue that if they keep overheating then they do not have the best clothing for summer.
Honestly I had no issue with heat in my previous game or in the new game I just started recently. In the new game I saw the too hot message a total of one time in my first summer, I got a straw hat and never saw that message again. Get a bit too cold in the winter because I do not have top end winter clothing yet.
Yeah, same. Never had a single issue with heat as long as I slapped on a straw hat and this was before putting any points into the temperature tolerance skill.
I just turned it off and up'd the difficulty a touch on food and drink or critter/bandit damage to compensate. I was like you, couldn't make the dude happy with temps... seemed like no matter what I did...and my town isn't near a lake so that's out.... I got annoyed and turned it off....been happier since. I may turn it back on in a bit, but for now, no more complaining from my character.
I don't want things taken away, mind you. Glad folks got the game play they want... glad I can turn it off too. Everyone wins.
