Have an issue with Temperature
I currently have the best clothes possible for Summer, and yet my character is way too hot. Not only does he keep complaining (which is driving me a bit crazy) but it's doing a number on my thirst. Not sure what else to do, besides running into a lake once in a while to shut him up; though it is pointless.

Is this how its supposed to be from now on, always too hot? I really do not want to waste skill points in the temperature skill, so some info would be appreciated.

I fully appreciate many want the full experience of the game as with any game where you need food / water to stay alive it becomes a survival, You do in the customise game option have the ability to turn off temperature effects and i wont lie as least for me didnt ruin the adventure at all but reading your comment i had noticed this when i first started on the oxbow before changes..Cold or hot your character complains a little to much for my liking eg: every 30secs, Probably why i turned that setting off.

1. The skill points in the temperature skill are no waste - proof: Your post.
2. I survived the first summer with the starting clothes and one straw sun hat?

I have had no problem..
Made money from Copper Sickle as soon as I got smith 1 by mining and picking up items.
Bought winter clothes:-
Bag hat - Fur boots - Long Fur hood - Thick leather Gloves
Normal:-
Quilted vest - Boots

In winter I put on winter clothes. All other times the normal clothes..
I never get the message 'To hot' and 'I'm freezing'

To me the skill is a waste when compared to the others, especially since I never needed it before. As for winter, no problems there, but during summer, even though I have the best clothes possible to combat the heat, my character still gets too hot. It didn't happen at first, but now it does, so that is why I was wondering if it's supposed to be that way or if something is off or perhaps they were still working it all out; cuz, I'm considering clicking the temp effect off since there is nothing I can do to keep cool during summer, unless I use up those skill points. Not to mention, he does get rather annoying complaining every so often.

related to temperature, in the winter is being inside a building and/or next to a camp fire not supposed to warm you up? It doesn't do anything for me anymore. The torch is the only thing that does.

Best clothes for summer: flat straw hat, short sleeve tunic, trousers, shoes or simple shoes. Note, you will still get the "too hot" debuff in some summer days but those are the best summer clothes there is as of current version. Best to just invest some skill points into Insensitive skill.

Ok, everyone, reed OP. Says they have the best clothing for summer
Try saving and reloading, sometimes your temperature tolerance doesn't update properly when you put new clothes on.

In the past I never wasted any skillpoint on temperature either. But this is now and a lot has changed. I have two points on less temperature sensitivity, and so far I never froze or got too hot.

Version 2.0.0.3, currently on the testing (beta) branch ( https://steamcommunity.com/app/1129580/eventcomments/4030222834112817901/ ) has some changes on it again:

- Heat sources in buildings and caves did not affect the player
- Weather and temperature replication
- The coldest day of spring is less demanding
- All clothes provide better protection against the cold

In 2.0.0.2 they already added:
- The hottest spring day has a cooler night and morning
- The worse winter variants for the first year are warmer.

And in 2.0.0.1 it was:
- In the first three years, only fine weather should prevail. More demanding and dangerous weather conditions begin occurring from year three in the game.

Ofc the actual bugs (like campfires not warming etc) need to be fixed, but I really really hope they won't make the temperature trivial again because of people complaining.

I just put on a straw sun hat in summer and the starting clothes, and even at 37 degress I was fine? But pears and pear tartes also give 1 or 2 temperature tolerance and jump sometimes into the cold water ...

For me at least, the temperature is tolerable for the most part, for example, I do like that I can wear the gloves near year round now. But the summer, there should be something you can do about over heating.

I mean it's summer, it's going to be hot, but having my character go on and on about how hot he is, with nothing for me to do to fix it, does get rather annoying, not to mention I can just stand there and watch his thirst shrink in rapid speed.

There has to be something to help with that, instead of just forcing me into a corner and use up my skill points. If wearing clothes actually helps you get cooler, then there should be some clothes that do a better job, instead of forcing me, as I said, to use up skill points. Just my opinion.

Though I guess I got my answer, it appears they are indeed still working out the kinks, so to speak.

You're not forced to use skill points at all, you can just drink more often. If there was no benefit to the skill then it would be horrible design.

This game has the option of preparing for winter or summer (or autumn/spring.) Thats the game... survival. The "hot months" bother me with whining "i'm roasting" and i cannot craft clothing suitable for the summer months. The object is to cope with challenges. I cannot craft apparel that will protect me from the games "punishment" of whining. THIS IS THE BROKEN PART OF THIS OTHERWISE GREAT GAME. Shut him up OR give me more heat protection options. COTTON i guess. The game is designed. I cannot cope with the summer months because there is not a designed solution. THIS IS A FLAW. The game should be tough but, there should also be solutions/goals to achieve to avoid the punishment of "im roasting" every 20 seconds. I'm sure the developers are prioritizing bigger problems BUT, this should be addressed. It's February and here we are.

I got this "I'm roasting" temp thing for the first time in my current first day of summer. I have all the best summer clothes.

The condition improves if you are wading in deep water, inside a building or take a Potion of Temperature. The potion fixed me right up and so far I haven't had another hot day.

Also wine prevents whining.
