Unplayable Aggression
This latest update has made the wolves and bears unrealistically aggressive. I mean, ridiculously aggressive to the point they no longer care if they've been shot or if you stay away from their agro. Now, they see you and chase you until your dead no matter how far away they were when they saw you. I am pissed at this level of aggro as its made travel as a first year character impossible. To the point I might be done playing this damn game.

If you're not slowed down by the extra weight and increase your stamina with skills, you can outrun them.

For wolves, you can wave a torch at them to make them run away so you have a chance to escape.

Wait my friend do not stop playing.... when you get agro and they circle you best bet is to use a spear or axes and back up, the will come at you . if you can hug against a tree or cover , let them em come at you wile attacking..if it is that bad just use the settings to make it better for you. the devs put in god mode for us!

Just wait until you have a pack of foxes decide to act like wolves and hunt you down from farther away than you can even see and tear you to spreads before you can even react, that was fun.

Had a bear spawn literally right behind me and steam rolled over me with constant attack that took me from full health to dead before I could even turn around.

But hey the Bandits just stand in place and let me bonk them on the head so I guess that evens out....right?? lol

if you stick to roads you rarely get eaten - it just takes a bit longer to get from A to B. Otherwise if you must hunt wolves, try to wait until you get animal tracking. You should be able to get 3 or 4 arrows into a wolf before it bites you. There are plenty of recurve bows lying in buildings and some poisoned copper/bronze/iron arrows as well.

Yo they are vicious, I thought it was a wolf bitting me, turned around....nope evil badger from the lowest depths of hell risen to destroy the world. lol
Four boar at once and moving like they were turbo powered. Turn to try and "axe" one and another hits from behind. Too much, too fast.... too dead.

100% Agree. Even a fox can kill you now. =100% not realistic at all.
Foxes avoid human beings and even wolves prefer not to attack you. This has to be fixed asap!

Agree. I was pretty sure this game was about exploring and building a community moreso than becoming huntmaster 3000.

In first place I was pissed too when starting the solo on this mp map...
But after some time you get to know the tricks how to even kill a bunch of wolves with a stone axe...

It is different...but not so much more difficult than it was before....

But how hunting e.g. is done now...the game does not get boring....

weird, yesterday i killed a bear, by hitting him with an arrow, running away until it turned back, followed it, rince and repeat until dead

When traveling from town to town I have gone in the middle of the river to escape the wolves. The ducks don't attack and there aren't any piranhas in the river. I can not survive an attack from 4 wolves at once. Maybe the devs could give us a choice on how intense an animal attack would be, from easy to difficult.

Throwing Spears (from mid near distance 3-10 metres) and Bows/Crossbows (over 10 metres) and they die fast (better fight with these weapons in 1st person view!) ... Melee Combat is not a real option in MD - you miss, you will pushed back, you get disorientated, the hit boxes are very bad ...

I was on the road when I got attacked by a pair of bison in the woods. Bison preferred open plains, why would they be in a thick ass forest? And why attack randomly? I was on the road when a wolf came into existence and didn't care even after I shot the damn thing in the head. The bear I was off road in the mountains, but it was MILES away and still decided I was dinner. Some of the advice being given on these comments seem pre update. Post Update, wolves don't seem to give a ♥♥♥♥ about torches or being shot in the face.

It does seem like death is almost inevitable in the first year, at least in Oxbow/solo mode on default settings. Unless you happen on a really good stash of stuff, you likely have wooden and stone weapons. No matter how clever you are or how great at hunting, poking a bear with a wooden stick is really likely to have only one result, and not the good one. I think maybe the aggro range for all of the aggressive animals should be cut back a bit. I suspect that the fight-in-packs aspect was added to make the game more challenging for those in coop mode, but has made the game really tough for the solo players--I wonder if there is some way the devs could nerf that for solo mode but keep it for coop mode?
