In fairness ... if every man in life only had male offspring, would be a very short species lifespan ....

Well, the bees and the birds ... let me tell you, children could be boys OR girls ;) to be serious: Yes it is gamewise annoying. If I start as female, I want also play a female heir ... only solution: Save and load until you have the right gender. P.S. I hope the let us choose ... 1 or 2 hotfixes later!

Until they add the possibility to chose; save the game at the end of the season before the child is born. And if it's the wrong sex; just reload. It's a random chance what you will get right now.

You could kick your ingame wife out of your village (she'll take the offending demon spawn with her) and marry again.
I mean, that's what she gets right? She should count herself lucky she only got banished. A lot more horrible things were done to women in the past that failed to produce a male heir! ;-)

Well, I had a similar question posted in german. One is still unanswered. Does a daughter count as heir and do I have to play as a femal character, when my original dies?

I'm with Jedi on this, we definitely need an orphanage. That way unwanted hell spawn err heirs can be made to disappear and those of us that have no interest in marrying someone of the opposite sex and all the other stuff that goes with that can still adopt an heir.

While the other person was mostly being sarcastic, this is absolutely not true.

Save scum if you can't deal with the simulation of reality and move on, but being surprised is quite hilarious.
