Throwing stones
from the quest board, how do I make throwing stones if i don't have a workshop yet, can i use the smithy in Oxbow town, what am i missing?

IIRC they can be crafted by hand using the radial menu (Q by default).

They can only be crafted at the smithy. Even workshop isn't good enough. On the plus side, you don't have to pay to unlock the recipe.
