how to live in the same house with another player?
My husband and I play, but we can’t live in the same house. We built 2 starting houses and were settled in them. How can we be assigned to one house? And how do relationships between players start to create a family? There is a mention of this in the in-game manual, but nothing specific.

Each of the coop players needs a house of their own. The second bed is for their partner, the third for their child. Two players can't marry and can't live in one house, sadly. At least that's how it is for now.

As the mechanics are that the host can actually continue a game solo without their coop partner, I imagine it would be difficult if both players were a couple. But I'm not a programmer :)

you have to just assign your selves to the same house. There is a placard by the door of the house and you both have to click on it to assign and do the assign player to this house option. That is what we did, now as for kids I don't know as we haven't gotten that far.

Assume they have no idea what to do with babies if it was two players. At the moment, if you play a female character, the father stays home with the newborn (and doesn't work), other way around if you're the father. Two players = no one to stay home with the baby.

If you look in the knowledge tab under 'heir', you can already read how they will solve this. The baby will just be alone in their crib all day. Poor thing.

I do wonder what they'll do towards the player-dies-heir-takes-over mechanism if there's only one child for 2 players... So, that might mean we can have more than one in the future :-)

Yea that doesn't work, we have no option to add my partner. They're just not listed.

Build a separate (empty) house for your partner and then YOUR PARTNER (not you!) has to interact with the sign next to the door of the new house: https://imgur.com/a/SX4ajmE by holding E (not pressing it once, but holding it) til they are assigned to the house.

For me and my gf. it's just swapped our houses. I mean me in house A, my gf in house B.
If my gf assing for A, the game put me in B and her to the A.

Yes; because you cannot have two players living in the same house. You can only live together with the partner you marry ingame, and atm you can only marry the npc's.
