How to assign a house to each player in co-op?

Hi, the first house, that is built is assigned to the player hosting the game.
But how to assign houses you the other players?
They are not on the list and can not be assigned.
Sleeping in a bed did not help, neither hosting players nor clients have a option.

The same way you do, by having them interact with the placard next to the door.

Yes, but everyone beside the host can't assign as he is the only one in the list.

I also can't figure out how to add other players to a house :( they keep spawning in the starting village

The player can interact with the sign next to the door to assign himself.
You can't add other players, they have to do it themselves.

Keep in mind that each player needs their own house!

I guess I'll explain it clearer. The other players must interact with the placard that is next to the front door of the other houses and assign themselves to that house. You do not do it through the Management Tab in the menu like you would with the NPCs.

I think it's a temporary issue, as we've spent a couple of hours trying to figure out how to do that with my friend. The game seems to not detect any other coop players as the village residents, except for the host, so there is pretty much no way to assign a house to your coop buddy.

Mods should probably move this topic to Suggestions.

Oh ok, the Morri's answer explains it all basically. Though, I really think there should be a feature that allows players to choose who is going to be the boss of the village, so the rest of the management could be held by the chosen player. As for right now a lot of misunderstandings happen due to the fact that all of the players have the same rights in terms of organizing the life of your village and some kind of a "ranking system" amongst players would be a pretty fun thing imo.

There are no players listed in this menu.
We tried it, but there are ne entries , neither for the host nor for any of the players.
Seems like it is not working currently.
We started 3 games and in each game only the host was auto-assigned to the first house and all other players did not show up in any menu besite the list of players.

Not in the menu.
The player needs to walk physically to the house and click on the wooden sign next to the door.

(Alternatively, they used to be able to click on the house in the list of buildings and then have the option at the bottom "assign to player" default to C; but I don't know if that is still there on the co-op map.)

Make sure no one else is living into the house; your friend should have this option below:

in this menu we have one house with 1/3 assigned, which is the host.
And we have 2 houses with 0/3 assigned.
If we try to assign a player in this menu to a empty house, no player is listed as possible citizen.
When we go to the door of the house with 1/3 asssigned, the host is assigned to the house.
When we go to the boards beside the doors of the other houses, there are 0/3 assigned and none of the other players is listed as possible assigned.

Same for host and players.

Can you share a screenshot by the homeless player when he interacts with the house? That person should have the option i circled in red in my screenshot. "Assign to player".
