Windmills are they worth it?
question is in the title, are windmills better than a barn for making flour? or are they the same

Them have double output, so totally up to you if them are worth it or not.

And they look cool with those sails turning...

While they give double the output they can only have one worker, so they will be pretty slow. A barn, while only giving half the output of the windmill can have 8 workers. If you have more grain than you know what to do with, the barn will be better and saves you an extra worker.

Looks are important. I use mine occasionally and someday will have enough folks that I can spare one for there - and maybe even a well tender.

500 wheat gives 2000 flour. You can do it yourself pretty easily in one sitting and or multiple sessions. Some stuff I like doing myself so I do not run out of source materials without having to keep a close eye on it.

True but with this it makes so much and is so lite that you can do a lot in one sitting and stockpile it quite a bit. A lot of things can use wheat grain and flour as well the grain is used as seeding. Efficiency and having it run itself is all well and good but it is a game I also want to have things I do too.

It all depends on if you need the flour all at once. If you don't, you benefit from having the one mill worker turning out flour year round, while the barn is focused on other items.

or you build multiple mills. But I agree mills and grain vs grain consumption as well as mines vs smiths you need sooo many smiths to process the outcome of a single mine) is oddly imbalanced in my opinion.

Yeah, folks can't figure out if you are being disingenuous or are just dumb. Don't want to be mean to someone not very clever, don't want to feed the troll.
lol jk, kind of...

So with the new update they tweaked farming production a fair bit. Mills now only produce 2-3 more flour than the barn.

Barn.
6 wheat= 12 flour.
6 oat= 10 flour.
6 rye= 10 flour

Mill.
6 wheat= 15 flour.
6 oat= 12 flour
6 rye= 12 flour.

It is definitely not worth it now unless I am missing something.
