Not for warfare, but just to live in and enjoy. Role play. So here is a Gord.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gord_(archaeology)
Quote "strategic sites such as hilltops, riverbanks, lake islets or peninsulas between the 6th and 12th centuries in Central and Eastern Europe. The typical gord usually consisted of a group of wooden houses surrounded by a wall made of earth and wood, and a palisade running along the top of the bulwark" Quote.
So we do it ourselves. I'm checking locations as I travel. Some I seen on the screen shots used the island South West of Tutki.
Best so far for me is a raised flat area. Take the road West from Gostrovia, hang the sharp south at the bridge junction towards Hornica, and carry on up to the flat areas where the Y junctions are.
The village straddles the road. Sorry I cant get my photos working.
We have all we need to make one of those.
Anyone play the game Gord? That but bigger.
