Don't consider the money and stuff your village has as yours; it's community property, and the community (village) pays the taxes on it, which you get to hand over as the village leader.
😜
I give the gift of employment.
As well as the giftS of: protection, resources, housing, and management.
Disappointing but understandable. Honestly would've loved a system where you can give clothes to villagers. 3 sets. A Warm, temperate and cold set. And if provided they get a small morale boost and look different based on the season.
Simplistic story aside. Just something fun about building your own community and helping people help themselves from being wandering vagabonds to having homes, jobs, families etc. Plus only so much fun you can have dressing yourself up. So making your villagers reflect the village's prosperity just sounds fun. And gives more purpose to clothing.
Additionally, I wish we could have dye options and perhaps a new building and job for dyer.
Nope, it's mine, all mine, bwahaha.
Seriously, I hand crafted every house, building, decoration and fortification wall. I hand selected every villager, I make sure there is always enough food, firewood and water so no one goes hungry or cold. I make sure they have the resources needed to do their job (a job I can do 10X faster than them, btw). I reallocate our labor to accommodate two year long (!) maternity leave for every birth. I gift every freaking two year old a small carved animal to play with. I fight bandits and wildlife to keep my village safe and I meet every single need they have. I keep relations with our neighbors and monarch high so we can grow and proper.
Pay them, bish, please.
Would do nothing functionally but just up their happiness and maybe some stats for the job they are assigned. But give at least a simple illusion they gaining their own money etc.
One, two (one, two, three, four)
Let me tell you how it will be
There's one for you, nineteen for me
'Cause I'm the taxman
Yeah, I'm the taxman
Should five percent appear too small
Be thankful I don't take it all
'Cause I'm the taxman
Yeah, I'm the taxman
I'll tax the street
(If you try to sit, sit) I'll tax your seat
(If you get too cold, cold) I'll tax the heat
(If you take a walk, walk) I'll tax your feet
(Taxman)
'Cause I'm the taxman
Yeah, I'm the taxman
Don't ask me what I want it for
(Ah, ah, Mr. Wilson)
If you don't want to pay some more
(Ah, ah, Mr. Heath)
'Cause I'm the taxman
Yeah, I'm the taxman
Now my advice for those who die (taxman)
Declare the pennies on your eyes (taxman)
'Cause I'm the taxman
Yeah, I'm the taxman
And you're working for no one but me (taxman)

This is a good idea. Their happiness should also be affected how well you dress them. Maybe even place the different type/color of clothing in each house chest, so that they all look somewhat different, not like a football team in the same uniform.
