Yup that's the thing. Just feels ever so slightly...off. Like I've lost control of my own character.
I love it. Feels like gravity IRL.
Just waiting for the devs to answear if its intended.
I just tried starting a new game. I can't even take a single step forward any more, without feeling like I'm on a frictionless hover board. That stone just out of reach, try to step to it like I used to, nope. Instead I'm going to step right over it and slowly come to a halt, and guess what it's now out of reach and behind me.
I can understand if you've been sprinting, that it takes a little while to stop; but, when you haven't toggled running on and try to take a step, you shouldn't feel like your character's floating along without the muscle power or friction to be able stop normally
I hope this is just an unintentional behaviour and will be fixed soon.
I had a friend (who knows what he's doing) fiddle with my system. Changed a few .DLL files. I don't know what he did, but it helped a little. He seemed to think the 'game has got too busy for my system' I don't know if it's just PC or if it's console as well. I don't know if it's Win 10 v Win 11 (I can't run Win 11)
Once you get a big town, and they all stop work - go to the pub and beer garden - all the npc's; walls; trees; all the lights flickering; moths, and now the hop skip jump of the character. I think only the very best system can handle a maxed town. (just my opinion)
Do I want them to stop the trees moving, torches flickering .... NO it's think it's like that that make the game so great.
I'm honestly not sure if I dislike it, but I doubt I would miss it if it were back to how things were before again.
Its not too much of a bother, it would just be nice to have an option to turn it off for those who don't want it
Apart from not being able to forage properly, the reason I don't want it and would like to be able to turn it off, is because I had to stop playing after just 5-10 minutes. I started to feel motion sickness for the first time in my life, and I already had head bobble and camera shake turned off so it wasn't those causing it.
For me, it was also breaking my immersion in the game. Not being able to take walking steps without continuing to glide to a stop was just annoying
Like some walking around the map .. one stops and like he waits till 3 or more have gathered together before he starts moving again. The remainder all stop behind him until he starts walking again.
