Villages evolution
I'm not entirely sure but I've seen along the few years in-game that I played so far that villages evolve their buildings, for example adding daub to the walls. My question is, a village that has or starts with simple small houses, get to upgrade to large houses through the years? Also, their population also increases?

That's interesting! I had read about that but not experienced it myself since i usually don't pay that much attention to the other villages and forget which ones looked like what.
I don't think they'll upgrade to larger houses though.

I also don't think the population will grow since they are limited to the number of beds in their house, so they can't make more kids.
But I do wonder what happens when the kids you already see running around grow up. Will they be getting jobs automatically?
I know that when an npc dies, a new one comes in his place automatically, but maybe that job vacancy should be taken by one of the kids?

Maybe I should start taking record of who lives where, just so I can compare when I get to the 3rd generation to see how things have evolved in the villages!

I don't know how long you have been playing for. The devs have made some changes in some villages over some updates for sure. I've never personally seen them change.

I have played my main save long enough to see the original villagers replaced. Once the vendors age out there seems to be a replacement of the villagers. I know for me Hornica got new villagers completely.

@ chris, sorry to delete your post, but please use the spoiler tag if you post those things. You don't want to ruin it for people who haven't played through the story yet!

My sincere apologies..

I'll try putting my brain in gear before engaging my mouth in the future.

since you're a mod, is it possible for you to engage with the devs and ask if my question is actually something that they can debate to apply in-game or to at least know if they already debated it? I feel like if this ain't in the game, it might actually be an opportunity, tho I wonder how they would improve all villages without demolishing walls and palisades.

I can answer that.
It has been suggested several times. I know the devs look at all suggestion.

Further then that, we dont know anything, or would not get any answers.
But atleast them have seen it.

I have no contact with the actual devs. Only with the community manager, and she's under NDA and bribes aren't working. I haven't tried torture yet though... ;-)

Well some villagers do ask for copper hammer as they want to work on their houses maybe just quests to fill time but that does add some self sufficiency. Just like the herdsman/woman who cooks want to go hunting and needs a recurve bow. Now that is an odd quest and adds what the hell are are they doing in thier spare time as they have a job to do lol

When everything goes wrong, throw cookies at her. That might distract her long enough so you can run away. xD

I would try to wax legs as a method of torture.
