Giving Gifts

Is giving a gift to your wife different than giving one that you are talking to? Also, how do you give a toy to the baby?

You can't give toys to babies, but once they can walk on their own, you can give them toys

Giving a gift to a woman increases their affection. Either to get it high enough so you can marry her, or to keep it high enough so she won't leave you once you married her. Other than that, they are the same I guess.

You can't give a gift to a baby; only once he is a toddler you can talk to him and have the option to give him a gift. This will also increase his affection, which is important to determine his later stats when he grows up.
