Donkeys
Are they able to be ridden better than a horse or can carts be attached to them? Not that I've seen a way of crafting a cart?

They ride just fine, just like horses. Donkeys are a bit slower but can carry more. The movement mechanic while riding them is the same for both. See my comment on your other topic on how to navigate on a mount.

And no, sadly you can't attach a cart. I would love that being added though.

Why is that we can 'loot' broken down carts but can't make our own? Maybe the next update?

Many of us have expressed interested in creating our own carts but that's not built into the game. A few have brought up the idea of scavenging the carts themselves (wheels, wood, etc.) but again, that's not built into the game. I've not read anything to indicate an interest by the devs to add either. But you just never know.

we can already build the cart wheels as decoration.

would be nice if we can actually use them

Yes seems crazy that we can craft wheels but not use them!

My take on Donkeys is....they are ok at best, at about $4k not sure they are worth the investment if you are getting it to move around faster...I wish I would have waited for the horse. The donkey doesn't seem much faster then sprinting, and getting on and off to loot is just not worth it to me. I'd rather just run and gather/loot/hunt. The donkey seems more of a chore. If the donkey moved from point A to B faster I might like it better. Now I'm anxious for a horse. This is my first play through, but I have about 90hrs in it, love this game.
And OBTW, I know the donkey can carry a lot more than I can, still I'd rather be free.

If you have been able to put the point into skill that allows you to summon your mount by whistling then the donkey is useful as a pack animal even if you never ride him. Just whistle to call him to you - load him with the goods you don’t want to carry - then carry on playing. (Just don’t over burden him to the point he won’t move.) When back at your resource storage building - whistle for him again and he’ll teleport to you.

well that depends I guess My donkey looks liek ti might finally let me out of the stone age. Before I refused to move to copper or bronze because the constant run to the nearest mine with where I set up is not worth it until I get a mine.

Especially not when early one you can get a infinite order of stone for releatively low cost just by having a extraction shed.

Looks like I'm getting a donkey! Anything beats hearing myself have an asthma attack.
