So It might be that the dynasty mechanics will work differently there than how it is right now on the old map.
So maybe we will indeed also be able to get a female heir - can we choose or is it random? -, or multiple heirs, or maybe we won't even be able to have an heir there if they can't find a way to make it work in co-op? I sure hope the latter is not the case, but as long as nothing is confirmed, I try to remain cautious!
I guess the only people besides the devs who might know (the ones selected for the closed beta test) are not allowed to say because of the NDA. :-)
The suspense continues...
If it's limited to the new map then I ain't going back :L although it would be odd to limit it.
I assume it would be a lot better if we can choose tbh, would suck if we cannot.
Unless you would be OK with your female character flirting with the village maidens, taking one as a wife, and getting her pregnant, and also incidentally being complemented on being a fine strapping young man by all the residents of the valley, there would indeed need to be some changes to have Racimir become Racimira.
That's how I understand it, yes. I don't think anything about the current map and its associated gameplay is changing.
That's why the devs idk do a bit of development?... besides who hasn't dealt with bugs, that's why thing's get fixed if things go wrong.
I'm assuming you guys literally have no idea what the devs would have to do to implement it and just assuming it's impossible..
Maybe, just maybe, you literally have no idea...
If we are only talking about a female HEIR and not the starting character, that lessens it a bit, but not completely. All the extra quests that were added with the heir-update a year ago you can also get in the next generation. So they would all need to be redone for a female main character AND female heir quest giver AND male partner. Can't really have your husband send you to the herbalist about his morning sickness now, can you?
So it'll be a lot more than "do a bit of development".
Things like working in co-op etc is just easier to do when you can start from a clean slate (aka new map and story). And even that is already a huge undertaking when the original game wasn't designed with those mechanics in mind.
So I personally don't think the heir mechanic will be changed on the old map.
That being said; while it has been confirmed that the co-op and selecting a female character will only be for the new Oxbow map, nothing was said regarding the heir mechanic - not on the old map and not on the new map either. So who knows?
